Seth and I graduated from BYU April 2007. Our beautiful son Simeon was born that May. I started running again in June with the encouragement of Seth and Lybi. Seth, Lybi, Laura, and their mom are the ones who really keep me running :P

Seth and I came over to his parents' house this morning because Rebecca and her family are here for a visit. So I just came over in my running clothes so I could run on the ditch bank. So I went out and started walking down to the corner, but I saw that there were dogs out so I turned around to run the other way, towards the dead end. I ran maybe a quarter mile when I saw another dog out. So I just turned and ran back to the house. I haven't used the elliptical in a long time anyway.

So I did 18 minutes on the elliptical. It was actually kind of nice because Ani, my new laptop, fits perfectly on the little book holder thing. So I was able to watch a movie while I exercised. Has anyone ever noticed that books really don't fit in those things? It is so hard to keep a book open that it is almost not worth it. But this worked great! I could even download some books if I wanted to to and it would be way easier than reading on Pete (my PDA). Still, movies are better than books when you are exercising :)

So ... are you too embarrassed to take Mom's african whip? (hee, hee) She tried giving it to us to scare off any dogs, but I couldn't imagine running with it and not laughing. :o) "Heeyaw, dawg ... uh ... no, Officer, I didn't see you there while I was wielding my lethal weapon in public."

I'm jealous about your new laptop! Sounds like a great one!!!!! And congrats about the sign-on bonus for Seth! Wahoo!!!! ;o)

It's just so big! And I don't like running with a stick. Sometimes I do if I can find a sturdy looking one that isn't too enormous. Mostly I just look ahead for dogs and if see any out loose I go back. Either way, with or without a stick I don't think I'd be a very formidable opponent against a vicious, lunging dog. So I don't take my chances.
